The Bucks County Foundation was founded in 1979 as a community
trust. Its purpose was to afford individuals the opportunity to
make lasting, flexible gifts to meet the needs of Bucks County
residents and to assist the County’s charitable organizations
— both those in existence and those to come in the years
ahead. It was perceived that as the county grows and changes,
the demands upon its educational, cultural, community, and charitable
organizations would also change.
As a community foundation whose charitable
activities are guided by a
widely representative and knowledgeable Distribution Committee,
the Bucks County Foundation continues to address those changes
and to assure donors that gifts made today will be used wisely
and effectively to enhance community well-being in the future.
